AWAKE AND DREAMING

I wonder where it is for me,
that stitch between life and dream.
The shallow pool of in between,
the trail and tracing of a seam.

In my mind, in my station,
behind the veil of midnight imagination.
How I wish I could marshal the colours,
and all the shapes that become them.

I wish I could be awake and dreaming,
be at peace and still perceiving.
Be a low waltz and a deep breathing,
or plumb a depth without leaving.

And I will endeavour,
and endeavour many times until;
I am awake and dreaming or I'm cold and eternally still.

I think that I, saw you in a dream.
And as you fell,
I cast a stone,
and turned to see the ripples forming.

I think that I, knew you in between.
Well you were,
the water fall,
the ever changing guard of seasons.

And I will endeavour,
and endeavour many times until;
I am awake and dreaming or  I'm cold and eternally still.
